Junior Olympic Archery Development


The National Archery Association of the United States recognized the need for a Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Program in 1961.  JOAD endeavors to meet the needs of all youth in archery with the end result of developing world class Olympic archers.

JOAD archers are grouped into five categories:

YEOMAN: up to age 8
BOWMAN: 9-12
CUB: 13-14
CADET: 15-16
JUNIOR: 17-18
