Tangys Archery Lanes

"Where every level of archer feels at home"

About Us

Hi, my name is James Dean.  My wife Heather and I have been in the sport of archery since 1967.

We became members of the
N.F.A.A (National Field Archery Association) in 1969 and have been members ever since.

My wife and I have both held offices in the R.I.F.A.A. (Rhode Island Field Archery Association.)

I became a N.F.A.A. certified instructor 12 years ago, and I am currently involved in the National Judges Program in my home state.

In 1979, we started a part time archery business from a briefcase, and in 1981 opened our first indoor archery lanes and pro shop.

During our years in business, we have conducted numerous tournaments and leagues and are still active participants.

Heather and I have been teaching archery to adults and children and have several championships to our credit.  For the past eight years, I have been teaching children ages 9-12 at a private school and country club.

My business has bonded me very closely with bow hunters and I also enjoy bow hunting.  Bow hunters are among the most ethical hunters I have met, taking their sport seriously.

Archery is truly a lifetime sport for oneself or for the family.

Hope to meet everyone soon,

Jimmy  & Heather
